Yoga Classes

Come As You Are.

All Yoga classes are offered at Prakrti and within the Virtual Wellness Studio.

All Prakrti classes require registration due to limited space and my desire to make each session truly accessible to all participants. Registration allows me to make any necessary preparations for individuals who may need speical assistance for unique circumstances. Everyone is welcome at Prakrti.

This class includes a short, gentle yoga asana practice to help prepare your body for coming into stillness. Various styles of meditation will be explored. Meditation Exploration is for those who desire a calmer mind, better health and improved mood, as well as for those who wish to withdraw inward to develop a deeper relationship with his or her true nature. There will be opportunity to share and discuss experiences within the meditation community. No experience necessary.

While Prakrti offers all aspects of Hatha Yoga in most small group classes, a Hatha Yoga class at Olympia Athletic Club will typically involve a set of physical postures with focus on breath connection. After a warm up flow or stress relieving spinal series, postures are practiced slowly with static holds to allow the practitioner to truly feel into every pose allowing for heightened self-awareness.
Please contact Olympia Athletic Club for more information. First time gym visitors, don’t forget to ask about your free pass!
Prakrti offers Olympia members discounts on most products and services, in studio and online.

Tuesday & Thursday 5:30 p.m.

Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation known as “yogic sleep” or “effortless relaxation”. The practice draws your attention inward as you fluctuate between states of wakefulness and sleep. Your breath balances and becomes quiet. The unconscious and conscious aspects of the mind reveal themselves as you fall into an innate state of deep, blissful awareness. Yoga Nidra allows you to deeply experience yogic teachings such as feeling  interconnected wholeness and becoming aware of your true nature.

Spiritual Health is a multidimensional concept which does not refer to any specific religion. It promotes a connection to a sense of meaning and purpose in life and connection with oneself, others, nature, or a higher power – something greater than ourselves, and for some transcendence. This class is for individuals dedicated to exploring yogic philosophies and practices and applying them within daily life and within personal relationships.

This is for the beginner who isn’t comfortable in a mixed level class. With focus on fundamental poses and props to explore different variations, you’ll develop a new level of body awareness and connection to breath. You will realize your body is uniquely made and begin to understand that yoga is more than a one size fits all type of exercise. Instead it’s a unique, holistic practice tailored to each person who comes to the mat.
