Move Into Balance Begins June 27 – This 20 week BKS Iyengar inspired Hatha yoga class series is for beginners and seasoned yogis who wish to fine tune their practice for a deeper experience. Meditation Exploration Sunday 1:00 pm – This Studio class includes a short, gentle yoga asana practice to help prepare your body for coming into stillness. Various styles of meditation will be explored. Meditation Exploration is for those who desire a calmer mind, better health and improved mood, as well as for those who wish to withdraw inward to develop a deeper relationship with his or her true nature. Yin Yoga Monday 1:00 pm & Wednesday 8:00 pm – This class consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine, penetrating deep into the connective tissues. Yin Yoga is for you if you are tired, over-stimulated, when your energy is too erratic, your mind overactive, whether you are craving for energy or you feel you have too much of it. True Beginner’s Yoga Monday 11:00 am & 6:00 pm – This is for the beginner who isn’t comfortable in a mixed level class. We focus on fundamental poses, using props to explore different variations and developing a new level of body awareness and connection to breath. Here we realize our bodies are uniquely made and begin to understand that yoga is more than a one size fits all type of exercise. Balance, Breath, & Being Tuesday 6:00 pm – This class is inspired by my studies within the lineage of Sivananda Yoga which is dedicated to the teaching of classical yoga and vedanta to promote physical, mental and spiritual health. We will practice Swami Vishnudevananda’s five principles of yoga which are easily incorporated into daily life. These are the core teachings of the four paths of classical, traditional yoga and make the wisdom of the ancient sages easily accessible to beginners and the more experienced alike. Restorative Yoga w/Yoga Nidra This Fifth Sunday Special class typically involves only five or six poses, supported by props that allow you to completely relax and rest. Poses are held 5 minutes or more, and include light twists, seated forward folds, and gentle backbends. Most restorative practices are based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar.
