Prakrti’s Yoga Class Series are designed to help you deepen your Yoga practice, with the understanding that advancing your personal practice means more than making perfectly pretty, pretzel poses in your body to post on Instagram. 

Yoga not only has many physical and mental benefits, but it gives clear guidelines as to how to live  in harmony with every living creature, Great and Small.

Yoga helps to bring balance – strength with flexibility, fluidity with stability,  color along with transparency, and the courage to become vulnerable enough allow your True Nature to be seen.

Yoga is more than just  a set of exercises. It’s a holistic practice meant for you to take off your mat, out into the world.

Benefits of Yoga – Begins January 6 – This weekly twenty class series offers insights into the many benefits of yoga. We will highlight how the practice of Yoga has positive effects on the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual layers of our Being.

Introduction to Yoga Sutra – Begins Febraury 18 – In this 10 week class series, you will be introduced to Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra. The Yoga Sutra is based on samkhya philosophy and is a series of aphorisms – pithy, truthful observations – developed thousands of years ago. These teachings encapsulate the spiritual and philosophical aspects of yoga and offer ways to reflect on ethics, consciousness, and reality.

Introduction to Yoga’s Sister Science – Begins April 1 – This 10 week class series introduces Ayurveda, a comprehensive disease management system that supports holistic wellness on a deep level. Ayurveda focuses on harmonizing the unique constitution of an individual with the natural rhythms of our world. Utilizing nutrition, lifestyle, herbal medicines and time-tested therapies, Ayurveda brings the elements back into balance within the body to create total wellness.

Move Into Balance – Begins June 27 – This 20 week BKS Iyengar inspired Hatha yoga class series is for beginners and seasoned yogis who wish to fine tune their practice for a deeper experience. This class will focus on beginning to intermediate poses, using props to explore different variations. This class encourages confidence to develop or strengthen a personal home practice.

A Brief History of Yoga – Begins July 1 – This 10 week class series will introduce you to ancient texts of Yoga including the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Hatha Yoga Pradipika.

The Yoga Sutras Brought to Life – Begins October 7 – This 10 week class series will lead you deeper into the study of Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra and offer practical ways to incorporate the teachings into every day life.

Yoga For Stress Relief – Begins November 3 – This Sivananda Inspired Yoga Series incorporates asana, mudra, pranayama, philosophy and meditation practices to help reduce stress related issues such as anxiety, grief, and depression, as well as physical health problems like body pain and adrenal fatigue.
